Our common spaces are well loved
for their atmosphere, which lends
itself to quiet reflection or work as well as partying. Both spaces
have barbecue facilities and are available most times.

This is
the oldest part of the house, recently restored by us to offer calm,
relaxed
complex of three vaulted rooms with kitchen, bathroom, and wc, and a
fabulous
open fireplace which serves both as a source of cosy warmth, and as a
grill for
dinner parties, especially in the Winter – imagine coming in from the
snowy streets
to be greeted by a roaring fire, hot mead or toddy, and lots of
cushions!
The basement has its own kitchen and bathroom, and is available as self-contained accommodation, especially when our guests have more in their party than the large flat would accommodate. It is also available for hire - for parties or as an intimate meeting place for seminars, workshops or classes for up to 25 people. But for most of the time, it is available to our visitors for free, as a common space to sit, chat, play piano or eat.

An
interesting feature of the basement complex is our 'secret room' which
was
discovered during the renovations: it is a room that is actually under
the
garden. We like to imagine that this might have been some secret
laboratory of
a mediaeval Alchemist who laboured there when Cesky Krumlov was a place
famed
for its Alchemy connections. Alas, we found no gold....
